Now in its 11th year of operation, EPIC Academy is a neighborhood charter high school in the
South Chicago community that sets extraordinary standards for our students’ post-secondary success.  With 500 students, we embrace the challenge of public education to develop every student’s resolve to reach his or her full potential, regardless of the odds. EPIC’s student demographics are as follows: 96% Free/reduced lunch, 21% Students with IEPs, and 13% English Language Learners, with the average 9th grader entering on the 6th-grade academic level. Summary

Epic Academy’s Capital Campaign Director will be responsible for implementing and completing a $5-7 million campaign to support the building of a new school.. This role will work closely with the Executive Director, Director of Development & Marketing, Campaign Leadership, and Board of Directors to execute a broad-based fundraising plan targeting individuals, corporations and foundations for the Epic Academy Campaign. The ideal candidate should be energetic, self-motivated and a flexible team player.

Responsibilities:

● Overall campaign management and organization, including maintaining timelines, preparing talking points, assembling presentations and handling full meeting prep for board, campaign volunteers and staff.
● Use existing campaign prospect lists of individuals, corporations and foundations, and cultivation plans and solicitation strategies to jump start the campaign.
● Assist in creating and implementing strategies to raise Epic’s profile within the
corporate/small business community.
● In collaboration with the Executive Director and Director of Development &
Marketing, help recruit and manage campaign volunteers, including campaign
leadership from the surrounding communities. Schedule and support all campaign leadership meetings. Organize and monitor campaign volunteer assignments. Provide appropriate follow-up and support to campaign volunteers as needed.

Campaign Communications and Events

● Manage all aspects of campaign cultivation and recognition events, and campaign-related milestone activities.
● Working with the Director of Development & Marketing and the Campaign Team, develop the campaign communications, including case for support and donor materials, campaign e-newsletter, public relations, and other print and electronic campaign materials.
● Manage the campaign fundraising budget and work closely with the Campaign
Committee to ensure campaign plan, proposed strategy and fundraising targets are achieved.
● Campaign record keeping, evaluate progress towards goals, and prepare periodic reports on fundraising.
● Help ensure documentation and execution of donor acknowledgement, stewardship and public recognition, as appropriate.
● Expected to participate in and support all development department fundraising
activities and special events which may be during the evenings and weekends.
● Attends leadership meetings and contributes to the overall strategic growth of the organization.
● Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience & Skills:

● 5-7 years of professional experience in fundraising with a proven track record of
success, including specific experience in capital campaigns.
● Proven success in cultivating, soliciting and stewarding relationships with major  donors, including individuals, corporations and foundations.
● Experience in managing campaign budgets.
● Excellent interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.
● Ability to work effectively as a contributing team member with senior management, volunteer leadership, staff members, consultants and donors/prospects.
● Superior verbal and written communication skills.
● Experience in scheduling and staffing solicitation calls.
● Ability to manage follow-up, stewardship activities, and recommend next steps for all partners in the campaign.
● Ability to multi-task and work independently.
● Computer proficiency in MS Office, donor database/customer relationship
management software, required
● Knowledge of the role of technology and electronic communication in fundraising required
● Proficiency with SalesForce or other CRM systems
